One of the smallest and most basic types of dwellings is a studio. Generally, this will be an apartment structure that offers you a small amount of space. There aren’t going to be lots of perks but the tradeoff is that you will save money. You will have a living and sleeping area. You will also have a bathroom and a kitchenette. Those are the basics and they work well for someone that lives alone.
Perhaps you only plan to live in town for a year while you finish your education. It doesn’t make sense to spend lots of money on a lavish apartment. Not when you will be at school most of the day and then at work several nights a week. When you are at the studio, you will either be sleeping, eating, or studying.
Some couples select to live in a studio set up after they get married in order to save money. They want to have a down payment for a townhouse or for a house. They live in the smaller quarters for a period of time to allow them to save as much money as possible.
You will find that studio set ups are comfortable even though they don’t offer an excessive amount of space. You need to think carefully about the items you take with you to such a location though. You aren’t going to have much storage or closet space available.
